Working together to preserve, protect and enhance Yosemite
Our national parks are the legacy of a dedicated group of visionaries who tirelessly worked to save this country's special places for all time. The Yosemite Fund continues this legacy, bringing together people from all walks of life who have taken inspiration from Yosemite-and want to help preserve this crown jewel for future generations.
For more than 20 years, the Fund has translated passion into action, contributing over $50 million toward more than 250 projects throughout the park. Without the Fund, much-needed repair and restoration would simply not be possible.
From repairing hundreds of miles of trails to helping ensure the survival of endangered species to restoring fragile ecosystems, the Fund plays an essential role in enhancing the visitor experience while safeguarding Yosemite's natural assets. Here are just a few examples of Fund projects:
- Yosemite Falls — this $13.5 million restoration of the approach to Lower Yosemite Falls returned much of the area to a natural setting, added educational exhibits and enhanced the visitor experience of this Yosemite icon.
- Saving the Great Grey Owl — Yosemite is the last stronghold for this endangered species. The Fund is supporting ongoing research to ensure its survival.
- Meadow Restoration — Meadows throughout Yosemite Valley are flourishing because of new boardwalks that allow for water flows to maintain healthy ecosystems and for visitors to enjoy the experience of the meadow without damaging it.
The Yosemite Fund represents the single best way for you to give back to Yosemite and make a lasting difference. Contributions are tax-deductible and go toward vital projects throughout the park.
